Inaugural Top 10 MD Facts!

We felt that it was time that Mark Dantonio got some of the recognition he deserved. To some that might mean a Coach of the Year award, a Big Ten title, a raise, or continued good health as he recovers from his heart attack. But to us here at Mark Dantonio Facts, that means outlandish statements about his manhood and virility... uh, I mean, his football coaching prowess. So, without further ado, here's our list of inaugural Mark Dantonio facts!

10.) "Coach D" is both his name and his job description.

9.) In high school, Mark Dantonio played defensive tackle and safety... at the same time.

8.) Mark Dantonio's heart attack was caused by drinking blue and yellow Gatorade in quick succession.

7.) PETA is upset with Mark Dantonio for his yearly ritual of hunting Badgers, Gophers, Wildcats and Wolverines.

6.) Mark Dantonio doesn't watch other football games. He knows what happened before they were played.

5.) There are no recruits that Mark Dantonio can't get, just ones he hasn't asked to come to MSU yet.

4.) Mark Dantonio once returned a kick-off for two touchdowns.

2.) Mark Dantonio has the ability to silence 100,000 people with a single word. 

And, #1, because it's absolutely true, fairly amazing, and particularly galling to our friends from Ann Arbor:

1.) As of 10/10/2010, Mark Dantonio has as many Big Ten wins in the Big House as Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez!

(Seriously, look it up. Michigan beat Wisconsin in 2008 at home and Indiana in 2009 and.... no one else. Thanks to Brian Beck for the info).
